The biggest improvement to engine building and maintenance
over the last 10 to 15 years is, what was once accomplished by hand
(and hopefully the same for each motor), can now be technologically
built into each engine. This increases performance, reliability, and
consistency. It also means what once took weeks to perfect can now
be accomplished in less than half the time. With this new technology,
all drivers can be assured they are getting the most out of their
engines.
In addition to the quality workmanship you will receive
at Nine Mile Machine Shop, Clint wants to be sure his customers receive
products built and maintained on the latest equipment the industry
has to offer. One of many technological improvements to the Nine Mile
Machine shop is the computer engine balancer. With this new technology,
all crankshafts, are harmonically balanced to work with all other
rotating and reciprocating weights effortlessly; therefore, minimizing
bearing wear and ultimately engine wear.
All drivers (passenger and race car) can be assured
of getting the maximum performance from their equipment.
The block and head milling machine, which uses CBN
tooling, is used for square decking blocks and milling, as well as
angle milling cylinder heads. Now, surface finishes are better prepared
and tolerances are exact. The special attention paid to angle milling
is to ensure racing engines have more compression, which translates
into more horsepower for your motor.
Clint Holmes Racing Engines of Nine Mile Machine
Shop is housed in a 5,000 square foot building, complete with the
newest equipment to service all types of racing engines.
